Himachal govt institutes to be transformed into smart schools: Sukhvinder Sukhu

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, announced on Tuesday the government's plans to convert government schools in the state into smart schools. During a review meeting of the Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Sukhu stated that the initial phase would focus on transforming classes 11 and 12 into smart classes. These classrooms will be equipped with smart classroom equipment and furniture, while improvements will also be made to the overall classroom environment to create a conducive learning atmosphere for students.
In order to implement this initiative effectively, the chief minister directed the Education Department to identify schools with a substantial student population, reliable internet connectivity, and suitable infrastructure. Sukhu further emphasized that in subsequent phases, this facility would be extended to classes 8 to 10 and eventually to classes 1 to 7. Additionally, the government plans to establish library rooms in every Senior Secondary School and provide 40,000 modern desks to government schools this year.
Sukhu emphasized the importance of empowering teachers and enhancing their teaching practices. Over 17,000 primary school teachers will be provided with tablets to adopt and implement the best educational practices, ensuring a higher quality of education for students. The chief minister highlighted the government's commitment to improving education standards in government schools, especially in remote areas.
