Haldwani became the basis of education of Kumaon in 74 years of independence

Haldwani is considered to be the education hub of Kumaon. At present, many types of higher educational institutions, headquarters and well-known schools are operating here. Coaching centers are running in every street for the preparation of competitive exams. In which youth from all over Kumaon come to study. It is not that the city has made so much progress in the field of education in the last one or two decades, but 75 years from today, that is, from the time of independence, good institutions of education have dominated here. Whether it is the Mahatma Gandhi Inter Higher Secondary School being built by the fighters inspired by Bapu's ideas or the HN Inter College established in 1938, its list is quite long.
Mahatma Gandhi Inter College dedicated to the thoughts of Bapu
Inspired by Bapu, who tried to uplift the poor, people participated in large numbers in the freedom struggle. Some such freedom fighters and enlightened people laid the foundation stone of a school in Haldwani about 70 years ago for the purpose of giving education to poor children. Established in 1952, this school was named 'Hayamatma Gandhi Higher Secondary School'. Which is today famous as Mahatma Gandhi Inter College. Manager Mohan Singh Bora told that Haldwani was called Bhabar even before independence like today.
HN Inter College giving doctors, IFS, IAS to the country
HN Inter College was established in 1938. Children studying from this school are serving as doctors, IFS, IAS all over the country. President Award winning teacher Bipin Pandey, who served as a teacher in this school for a long time, told that renowned doctors Dr. Kailash Sharma, Dr. Arun Kapoor, Dr. Anil Agarwal, Dr. Ajay Pal, Dr. Santosh Karnataka, Dr. Harpreet Singh, Dr. Hardev Singh, Dr. Hargovind Pathak, Dr. Avneesh, Dr. Ashish have studied from this school. Seven students of this school became councilors in the second board of the municipal corporation.
61 years ago got the first degree college
In 1988, Haldwani's first English medium school was established in the city due to the efforts of Lala Babu Lal. Which is known today as MB Inter College.
Presently 150 Schools, 10 Higher Educational Institutions
At present, 150 government schools, more than 400 private schools, 150 coaching centers, about 10 higher educational institutions are operating in Haldwani. Also UOU Headquarters, Directorate of Higher Education are running.
