Guest Faculty Assistant Professors will gherao Punjab Education Minister Pargat Singh house tomorrow

Employment News-Professors of colleges will gherao the house of Education Minister Pargat Singh from Thursday. He took this decision in the state level meeting held at Rakhbagh, Ludhiana. Members of different districts of Government College Guest Faculty Assistant Professors Association gathered under the chairmanship of State President Harminder Singh. In the meeting that continued for two hours, the guest faculty decided that no hearing was being held on their demands, so now the struggle would be intensified.

At present the meeting is going on and other strategies are also being discussed in it. District head Falwinder Verma said that since November 1, guest faculty are sitting on dharna in government colleges but they are not being heard. They are holding dharna as usual but the government is not doing anything. There is a demand of the association that the government should secure their jobs as the government is engaged in making new recruitment and this is threatening their existence. Their only demand is that the government should secure their jobs under all circumstances.

906 guest faculty providing services in government colleges

Presently 906 guest faculty are serving in various government colleges across the state. If there is a fresh recruitment, the guest faculty who have been serving in the colleges for the last 20 years will suffer. Therefore, attention should be paid to them first and then the government should make new recruitment. The association has decided that now a fierce struggle will be fought from Thursday, for which only the government will be responsible.
