Govt to Regularise Ayurvedic College Staff: Punjab Minister Balbir Singh

In a recent official statement, the Punjab government announced its plans to regularize the staff members of the Government Ayurvedic College in Patiala. Despite the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) recommending the closure of the college, the state government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has decided not only to keep the college open but also to regularize the staff. Medical Education and Research Minister Balbir Singh emphasized the importance of promoting the college staff based on merit and adhering to the established rules.
According to the state government statement, the Punjab government has chosen to revive this institution, which has been instrumental in providing ancient Indian treatment methods. Additionally, the government plans to introduce a pharmacy and a hospital facility in conjunction with the college. Minister Singh expressed his vision for transforming the government medical colleges in Patiala into leading institutions nationwide, and a detailed plan has been formulated for this purpose.
Significant reforms are being implemented in the healthcare sector on a large scale, aiming to ensure state-of-the-art health facilities in Punjab. During his visit to Patiala, Minister Singh reviewed the construction plans for a trauma center at Rajindra Hospital, which will be built at a cost of Rs 150 crore and run by the state. The government is dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to the citizens of Punjab.
