This year, IISc conducted GATE 2024 for 30 papers, an increase from the usual 29. GATE 2024 serves as the doorway to postgraduate engineering programs and opens avenues for Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) recruitment. Calculating Your GATE 2024 Score: The GATE score is determined by the raw marks obtained by candidates in the exam, which are then converted into normalized marks for multi-session papers. Here's how it's calculated:
GATE Score = S + (St-Sq) (Mr-Ma) (M-Mg)
- M: Marks obtained by the candidate (actual marks for single-session papers, normalized marks for multi-session papers)
- Mq: Qualifying marks for the general category candidate in the paper
- Mt: Mean of marks of top 0.1% or top 10 (whichever is larger) of the candidates who appeared in the paper (for multi-session papers, including all sessions)
- Sq: 350, the score assigned to Mq
- St: 900, the score assigned to Mt
