Employment ENws

There is relief news for the girls coming from the village to study in school, college and university. Girls will now get free bus service. The Roadways Department will operate eight special buses for girl students from next week. Four pink buses are already running. The feature is expected to be rolled out by next week.

In the year 2014, the government had provided free bus pass facility for school and college girl students. Girls can get the facilities of free bus pass in an area of 30 kms. Village level girl students travel in normal buses. Other passengers also travel in these. Buses have to face turmoil due to overcrowding. Keeping this in mind, the department has decided to run special buses for girl students.

Due to paucity of buses, the girl students of rural areas stand for several hours at the bus stand waiting for the buses. I am not able to reach the colleges on time. To overcome this problem of girl students, a route map plan is being prepared. The feature is expected to be rolled out by next week. In 1995, private buses were given permits by the Transport Department by privatizing the routes of rural areas. After this, roadways buses were removed from the routes. At the same time, due to losses, private operators had also demanded to change the route and for the last four years, buses have been closed on many routes.

Plan to run buses on these routes
Plans are being prepared to operate buses for many routes including Kithana to Kaithal, Siwan to Kaithal, Rajound to Kaithal, Balu to Kaithal, Balbehra to Kaithal, Dhand to Kaithal, Kaul to Poondri via Kaithal. After the running of these buses, the girl students will not have any problem in commuting. Prior to this, four pink buses are running on Crora, Kalayat, Sanghan and Cheeka routes.

These buses will start going to the village by next week. Even earlier, special buses are being sent for girl students in about 30 villages. For girl students, where there are no roadways buses, a route map plan has been prepared.
