First-year intermediate student found dead near hostel in Hyderabad, suicide suspected

A tragic incident unfolded at a private residential college when a first-year girl student in the 11th standard reportedly took her own life by jumping from the fifth floor. The incident occurred on Tuesday, according to the local police. The girl, aged 16, had recently enrolled in the college and her parents had departed for their hometown, Kamareddy, after her admission.
On Tuesday morning, citing health reasons, she returned to her room in the hostel. Later, alone on the fifth floor, she jumped from the terrace, resulting in severe injuries that proved fatal. Authorities suspect that the girl's feelings of isolation and homesickness, evident since her enrollment, may have contributed to her tragic decision.
The police have registered a case and are currently conducting an investigation. It is disheartening to note that this incident follows a similar occurrence in March, when a 16-year-old Intermediate student from a residential college in Narsingi also died by suicide.
