ETT course will start again to strengthen primary education in Jammu and Kashmir

Emplpyment News-In order to strengthen the elementary education system in Jammu and Kashmir, the Department of School Education will restart the Elementary Teacher Training Course (ETT). This will be a diploma course, which will be able to be pursued by other eligible candidates along with elementary teachers already working in the school department. ETT is not mandatory in the state government, but ETT is given preference in the appointment of teachers. The School Education Department is preparing to resume ETT by 2022-24.


With the introduction of ETT, along with enhancing the skills of teachers, youth will also be able to be a part of it. The school education department is preparing for this. ETT course should be started again. In this regard, the School Education Department held a detailed discussion with the JK Board on preparing the syllabus, bringing transparency in the examination and other topics, so that this exercise could be made successful. The School Education Department is preparing to start the course in the next six months, so that elementary teachers can be strengthened.

ETT course holders do not get weightage in the recruitment of teachers in the state, but preference has been given. ETT institutions were accused of giving fake degrees, due to which this was also closed for some time. Now the department is ready to start it again in a transparent manner. Beke Singh, Principal Secretary, School Education Department, is preparing to resume ETT for the year 2022-24.
