The English medium status of 96 primary and upper primary schools in the district will end soon. In fact, the state government has decided to end English medium education in council schools. This will affect 96 schools in the district. It consists of 80 primary and 16 upper primary schools. Due to this, about 12 thousand students studying in the respective schools will stop studying through English medium. They will be forced to study in Hindi medium as before.

A decision was taken a few years back to introduce English medium education in council schools. It was decided that the students studying in the council schools should also be given an opportunity to study in the English medium. For this, one by one 96 council schools were made English medium. It included 80 primary and 16 upper primary schools. In these schools, about 12 thousand students are also getting education through English medium.

When the dream of the students of poor family to study in English medium was being fulfilled, then the parents also expressed their happiness. Meanwhile, now the state government has decided that in the council schools, as before, the mother tongue will be taught through Hindi medium only. That is, the English medium will be abolished. The reason behind this is said to be the shortage of teachers in the schools in the urban area. Whereas there is a surplus of teachers in the council schools of rural areas. With the abolition of English medium, now teachers from rural areas can be accommodated in schools in urban areas.
