The 'School Safety' Mobile App

    The 'School Safety' app is a valuable tool developed by the HPSDMA to assist schools in creating their School Disaster Management Plans.

    The app is available on both Android and iOS platforms, making it easily accessible to a wide range of users.

Competition to Promote SDMP Excellence

  • Competition Details:
    To incentivize schools to excel in preparing their SDMPs, a competition will be held. Schools are encouraged to submit their plans for evaluation.

  • Prizes:
    Prizes will be awarded to the top-performing schools in the competition. The winning school will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, the next three best entries will receive Rs 50,000 each, and the following six best entries will receive Rs 30,000 each.

  • Submission Deadline:
    SDMPs must be submitted by September 30, 2023, to be considered for the prizes, which will be awarded on October 12.

Mock Drill and Disaster Preparedness

  • Mock Drill:
    On October 13, a mock drill will be organized at the school level to simulate responses to disasters such as landslides, flash floods, fires, and earthquakes. This exercise will help schools and students better prepare for real-life emergency situations.

International Day of Disaster Risk Reduction Celebration

  • Samarth Program:
    The HPSDMA will celebrate the International Day of Disaster Risk Reduction under the banner of 'Samarth,' a demand-driven and placement-oriented skilling program initiated by the Central government.

  • Event Details:
    The 13th edition of Samarth will be conducted from October 1 to 15, featuring exhibitions, workshops at the state level, street plays, memory walks, and various competitions at the district level.

Promoting Safe Construction Practices

  • 'Gram Sabha':
    On October 2, a 'gram sabha' will be held to address monsoon-related disasters and promote safe construction practices that are resilient to hazards like landslides, earthquakes, and fires.
