Education Secretary Appears Before CBI In Bengal School Jobs Scam

The Education Secretary of West Bengal, Manish Jain, was summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) once again on Thursday. He presented himself before the CBI officials at their Kolkata office as part of the ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in recruitment at state government-aided schools. During the questioning, the CBI officer stated that Jain was asked about recruitment-related documents bearing his signatures.
The officer further mentioned that Jain's statements were cross-checked with the testimonies provided by the former state education minister, Partha Chatterjee, and other individuals accused in the case. The CBI officer confirmed that Jain's statements have been duly recorded. This marked Jain's second appearance before the CBI in relation to this case. In his previous appearance at the CBI office last year, Jain was summoned and questioned for over five hours.
