Dismissed JBT teacher reinstated in Hamirpur

Employment News-Himachal Pradesh Elementary Education Department has reinstated the services of the dismissed JBT teacher. The department has taken this decision after the stay on the stay by the High Court. The Department of Elementary Education will present its case in the High Court. Now only after the final hearing in the matter from the High Court, the department will take further action in the JBT teacher case. At present, the process of regularization of these teachers who have completed the contract tenure of three years has stopped.


The Department of Elementary Education, Hamirpur had recruited three JBT teachers on batch wise contract basis in the year 2018. JBT, DElEd or ETT equivalent professional qualification and 50 percent marks in class 12th, 45 percent marks for reserved category had been conditioned, but out of the three general category teachers appointed by the department, one was a two-year pre school teacher. Education Diploma (NTT) course. It is not equivalent to JBT. This qualification is for Pre Nursery classes.

Two other teachers have 40 and 42 per cent marks in class 12th. After the completion of the three-year contract, the department started the process of regularization of teachers, then this negligence came to the fore. A departmental inquiry has also been set up against the Screening Committee members who took the interview. The Directorate has also called for a reply from the State Board of School Education. It has been asked that on what basis the certificate of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) has been issued without JBT Diploma.

In the matter of regularization of the remaining two JBT teachers, clarification has been sought from the Directorate of Education, Shimla. Sanjay Kumar Thakur, Deputy Director, Elementary Education Department, Hamirpur, said that the dismissed JBT teacher has been reinstated for the time being. Further action will be taken only after the final decision from the High Court. In the case of the remaining two JBT teachers, clarification has been sought from the Directorate.
