Key Points:

  1. Digital Transactions: Universities and colleges are urged to implement digital transactions (both payment and receipt) for financial dealings. Additionally, on-campus awareness programs should be conducted to encourage more people to engage in digital payments.

  2. Awareness Campaign: Universities are encouraged to collaborate with partner banks that offer services for educational transactions. These banks can assist in creating awareness about digital payments among the institution's stakeholders.

  3. Counseling for Students: Universities and colleges may provide counseling and guidance to students who are unfamiliar with digital payment methods.

The UGC has emphasized the importance of digital payments, not only for the institutions but also for students and their convenience. By partnering with banks, universities can educate their communities about the benefits and ease of digital transactions.

Online Application Invited for July Semester Exams: In a separate notification, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited online applications for the online semester exams through its Self-Platform. Interested candidates can submit their applications online until October 30th. The exams are scheduled to be held from November 30th to December 2nd. This semester's exam includes 390 subjects, and candidates are required to complete the online application by the specified deadline and make online payments by October 31st.

The move towards digital transactions in the educational sector is aligned with the government's digital India initiative and is aimed at streamlining financial processes and promoting a cashless economy. It is expected to bring convenience and efficiency to educational transactions for both institutions and students.
