Delhi University Launches MBA in Business Analytics
The University of Delhi's School of Commerce is introducing an exciting new addition to its range of courses—a full-time, 2-year MBA in business analytics. This program is set to begin in the current academic session, aiming to address the increasing demand for skilled and professionally qualified individuals in the business sector across various industries.
Ajay Kumar Singh, the head of DU's Department of Commerce, emphasized the department's unwavering commitment to excellence and its deep understanding of the industry's emerging demands while designing this comprehensive MBA (Business Analytics) program. Their goal is to produce outstanding business professionals equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in today's competitive world.
During the course inauguration, BR Shankaranand, Akhil Bharateeya Joint Organising Secretary of Bharateeya Shikshan Mandal, praised DU's Vice Chancellor, Yogesh Singh, for incorporating this new program at the university. He expressed the importance of fostering leadership qualities in students to showcase India's potential on the global stage.
Admission to the course will be primarily based on the Common Aptitude Test (CAT) scores, with 80 per cent weightage given to the CAT scores and the remaining 20 per cent divided equally between the marks obtained in Class 10 and Class 12. The merit and waiting lists of candidates will be prepared based on these criteria. The course offers a total of 76 seats, considering all forms of academic reservations. Among these, 24 seats are unreserved, 16 for OBCs, 9 for SC, and 5 for ST candidates. Additionally, 6 seats are reserved for economically weaker sections, while the remaining seats fall under subcategory reservation quota.
Aligned with the National Education Policy, the course has been meticulously designed to follow an outcome-based academic approach, wherein the institution specifies the objectives and takeaways for each topic or material covered in the curriculum. This approach aims to enhance the learning experience and ensure that students are well-prepared to meet the demands of the dynamic business landscape.
