Delhi University Initiates Undergraduate Admission Procedure, Implements Reservation Policy for Single Girl Child

Supernumerary Seats and Reservations:
Delhi University has introduced reservations for single girl children in all undergraduate courses as part of the supernumerary seats for the first time. Under this quota, one seat in each course across all colleges will be allocated to a single girl child based on merit.

Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS):
The university has launched the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for admission to undergraduate courses in 69 colleges and various departments, offering a total of 71,000 seats. Within three hours of its launch, the CSAS website received 5,911 applications.

Admission Process Phases:
The admission process will consist of two phases:

  1. First Phase: Applicants will provide personal details and Class 12 marks along with the CUET registration number.
  2. Second Phase: Seat allotment will occur after the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) results are declared.

Application Fees:

  • Unreserved classes, Other Backward Classes, and Economically Weaker Sections: Rs 250.
  • Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, or Persons with Disabilities: Rs 100.
  • Applicants not registering in CSAS can opt for interim entry by paying Rs 1,000.

Admission for SOL and NCWEB:

  • Admission for the School of Open Learning (SOL) will commence next month, with the registration portal operational from June 3.
  • The Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) admission process has already begun.
