Delhi Govt To Organise Rozgar Mela, Set Up 20 New Employment Centres
The Delhi government has announced plans to host a Rozgar Mela, along with the establishment of 20 new employment centers, aimed at providing career counseling services to the youth. In an official statement, Labour and Employment Minister Raaj Kumar Anand revealed that he had recently met with the vice-chancellor of the Labour Department and the Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) to discuss the organization of this employment fair.
During the meeting, it was decided that the Delhi government would organize a large-scale employment fair to enhance employment prospects for the youth. The primary objective of the Rozgar Mela is to offer expert guidance to young individuals, enabling them to identify fields that align with their potential and aptitude.
The DSEU vice-chancellor shared encouraging news, stating that more than 2,000 youths in Delhi have already benefited from the existing three employment centers. Building upon this success, the minister instructed the DSEU to prepare a proposal for expanding the number of employment centers to 20.
Furthermore, Minister Anand emphasized the need for special attention to be given to individuals with disabilities when discussing youth employment in Delhi. He directed officials to organize a separate job fair exclusively for differently-abled persons, underscoring the importance of inclusivity. The minister urged the relevant department and university officials to take appropriate measures in this regard.
To ensure maximum participation, Anand proposed the organization of registration and counseling camps in each assembly constituency throughout Delhi. Additionally, the Delhi government plans to host smaller-scale employment fairs. Minister Anand stressed the importance of appointing an external agency to ensure the smooth organization of these job fairs.
