The Indian Army has started the recruitment process for Agniveers, Junior Commissioned Officers, and other categories through the online Common Entrance Examination (CEE) from Monday. The CEE is being conducted at 375 examination centers in 176 places across the country and will continue until April 26. For the first time, the written test is being conducted before the physical test, as per the new revised rule by the Army. Candidates who have applied for the recruitment exam can find more details on the official website.

Previously, candidates had to undergo a physical fitness test, followed by a medical test, and then appear for CEE as the final stage. The Defense Ministry announced that the Indian Army has changed the process for recruitment of Agniveers, Junior Commissioned Officers, and other categories with the introduction of Computer Based Online Common Entrance Test as the first step. The final merit list will be prepared based on online tests, physical efficiency tests, and medical examinations.

The Agnipath scheme was started in 2022 by the Indian government as a program to recruit young individuals and train them to become officers in the armed forces. The scheme aims to provide opportunities for young people to serve their country and build a career in the military. Agniveers, who are the young professionals recruited through this scheme, receive various benefits such as free training, education, and a guaranteed job in the Indian Army. The minimum age requirement to apply is 17 years, and the maximum age limit is 23 years.
