CM Yogi Adityanath Inaugurates 'Smart School, Smart Block' Programme In Gorakhpur
Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, expressed satisfaction with the significant progress made in basic education within the state over the past six years. He highlighted the successful revival of numerous schools that were on the brink of closure. The Chief Minister inaugurated the 'Sampark Smartshala-Smart Block' program, a collaborative initiative between the basic education department and the Sampark Foundation, at the Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium.
Adityanath emphasized the positive impact of the Skill India Mission, which has effectively utilized technology to enhance the quality of education in the state. As part of the 'Sampark Smartshala-Smart Block' program, 58 schools under the Basic Education Council in the city area and 68 institutions in the Chargawan block have been equipped with LED TVs and comprehensive mathematics and English language learning kits.
To further support education, the Chief Minister personally distributed 'Teaching and Learning Material' kits to teachers from five schools and unveiled a magazine published by the Sampark Foundation. Adityanath recalled the condition of schools under the Basic Education Council before 2017, highlighting deficiencies such as inadequate sanitation facilities, substandard infrastructure, and a severe shortage of teachers. To address these issues, the government took the initiative to improve the education system and recruited 1.65 lakh teachers.
Recognizing the pivotal role of technology in education, Adityanath praised its effective usage, which has accelerated progress in the educational landscape. He acknowledged the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic to school education but commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Digital India campaign, ensuring uninterrupted access to education for children.
Impressed by the successful implementation of the 'smart school, smart block' program as a pilot project in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister expressed intentions to expand its reach across the entire state, signaling a commitment to further enhancing education through technological advancements.
