Employment News- To implement the concepts of National Education Policy-2020, children will be given education from nursery (pre school or Balvatika) in two thousand Anganwadi centers of the state. These are Anganwadi centers located in the premises of schools run by the Department of School Education and Literacy. The Department of School Education and Literacy is preparing to start it as a pilot project. Consent will also be taken from the Department of Women and Child Development on this. The new National Education Policy lays emphasis on changing the curriculum and learning structure to a new 5+3+3+4 system for all children in the age group of 3 to 18 years from the current 10+2 school system. Under this, the first five years of education are divided into basic education as 3 plus 2.

In this, the first three classes have been earmarked as Anganwadi, Pre School or Balvatika. This will be followed by the first and second grades. The first three classes (Anganwadi, Pre School or Balvatika) will be conducted in these selected Anganwadi centers. Under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme through the Development Department. The education of the children will be done only by the teachers working under the Department of School Education and Literacy.

ECCE program to be started in 183 schools In order to implement the provisions of the National Education Policy, it has been decided to start the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) program in 183 schools of the state. Under this program of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, for the current financial year, the Center has approved one lakh rupees per school. With this amount, child friendly bench-desks will be purchased in these schools. Bala facilities and outdoor sports equipment will also be purchased from this amount.
