Education Minister Bratya Basu cautioned that since education is in the concurrent list, the Center should not try to impose its views through the new policy. Basu said, “Education is in the Concurrent List in the Constitution. This is a delicate subject. If the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government tries to adopt a 'Tughlaqi' attitude, we will not accept it."

Will decide on the instructions of CM Mamta- Minister

West Bengal's education minister said, "Wherever we have to say anything, we will keep our views. Whatever is worth accepting, we will accept it. We will take a decision on this as per the instructions of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

In the new education policy, there will be emphasis on storytelling, theatre, group reading, display of pictures, writing skills, language and mathematics. In the budget last year, Finance Minister Sitharaman announced the new education policy. He had said that under this new education policy, the meaning of education in the country will be changed. This will not only provide new opportunities for education to the youth, but will also make it easier to get employment.
