CBSE Supplementary Exams for Classes 10th, 12th Begins Today, Check Guidelines

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the supplementary practical exams for classes 10th and 12th will commence today, July 6, and continue until July 20. Students are required to appear at the same location/venue as their theory exam center for the supplementary exam. CBSE has also instructed schools nationwide to publish students' practical exam results on the main portal on the same day as the test. The board has made it clear that requests for score changes will not be entertained.
Guidelines for CBSE 10th and 12th Supplementary Exam 2023 state that candidates who did not achieve the minimum required score of 33 percent in the practical component of the main exam have been placed in the compartment category and marked as 'Repeat in Practical' (RP). These students will only need to appear for the practical exam, as their previous theory marks will be carried forward. On the other hand, students who have been placed in the compartment category due to 'Repeat in Theory and Practical both' must appear for both the practical and theory components in the supplementary exam.
Furthermore, students planning to take the supplementary practical exams must contact their schools and examination centers before July 6. They should bring a copy of their admit card, mark sheet, and result. The official notice states that if a student falls under the Compartment Category and is also absent during the Internal Assessment, pro-rata marks will be awarded in the Internal Assessment based on the theory marks obtained in the supplementary examination. For such candidates, no Internal Assessment will be conducted during the supplementary examination since the Internal Assessment is an ongoing process throughout the year.
According to the schedule, the class 10th supplementary exams will take place from July 17 to July 22, while the class 12 supplementary exam will be held on July 17. Exams for both classes will begin at 10:30 am and conclude at 1:30 pm.
