CBSE Results: Farmer’s daughter, UP District Topper Aditi, aspires to be an IAS Officer

Seventeen-year-old Aditi Singh, hailing from Nagla Raghu village in Mainpuri district, Uttar Pradesh, has achieved an outstanding result of 99.25 percent in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 board exams of 2023. Aditi's success can be attributed to her well-planned and meticulous strategy for the exams. She followed a strict routine, waking up at 5:30 AM and attending school from 7:30 AM until 1:45 PM. Aditi's father, Rajpal Singh, is a farmer, while her mother, Geeta Devi, manages the domestic chores. She also has an older brother pursuing BTech from Shiv Nadar University.

Despite the challenges that come with a rural background, Aditi remained undeterred in her pursuit of excellence. She remained attentive during her classes and received guidance from her teachers in setting weekly targets. Her teachers helped her balance challenging chapters with easier ones, providing extra classes and addressing her queries on a daily basis. Aditi also dedicated time to self-study and ensured completion of her homework. Her commitment led her to maintain a disciplined schedule, going to bed by 11 PM. Aditi is a student at VidyaGyan Bulandshahr, where she excelled in the subject of English, scoring a perfect 100 marks. Her fondness for English stems from the captivating stories and beautiful poems that carry valuable lessons. Aditi emphasized the importance of giving equal weightage to English and thoroughly understanding the format of the writing portion.

Aditi's future aspiration is to appear for the UPSC civil services exam and become an IAS officer, contributing to the nation's betterment. Currently, she is preparing for the CUET 2023 and reviewing the syllabus covered in classes 11 and 12. Aditi's academic goal is to pursue a bachelor's degree in political science or history. Her top choices for university include St. Stephen's, Hindu, or Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi University. If unsuccessful in gaining admission to any of these colleges, she would consider Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Aditi faced difficulties in obtaining a mobile phone with a reliable internet connection for online lessons and adjusting to virtual instruction for her class 10 board exams. However, with the support of her teachers and friends, she overcame these obstacles and achieved an excellent score of 97.8 percent in her class 10 exams.
