Upcoming CBSE Class 12 Results Announcement

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is on the verge of announcing the results for Class 12. The declaration is anticipated to occur in the second or third week of this month. Over 1.8 million students who participated in the exams will soon be able to check their scores and download their digital mark sheets from the official CBSE websites: cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in.

The CBSE Class 12 examinations took place from February 17 to April 10, 2026.

Expected Timeline for Results

Historically, the CBSE Class 12 results have been released around the third week of May. This pattern has been confirmed by Sanyam Bhardwaj, the CBSE Controller of Examinations. In 2025, the results were announced on May 13, with an overall pass percentage of 88.39%. Similarly, results were also declared on May 13 in 2024 and May 12 in 2023.

Introduction of On-Screen Marking System

This academic year, CBSE has implemented an on-screen marking system, allowing for digital evaluation of answer sheets. This initiative aims to improve the transparency and accuracy of the grading process, significantly minimizing the chances of manual errors.

Passing Criteria for Students

As per CBSE guidelines, students must achieve at least 33% marks in each subject to pass the Class 12 examination. This requirement applies to both theory and practical assessments. A student scoring below this threshold in any subject will be deemed to have failed. The grading system categorizes grades 'A' to 'D' as passing, while an 'E' indicates failure. Students who fail may need to take a compartment examination or retake the exam the following year.

Viewing Results via UMANG App

Students can also access their results through the UMANG app by following these steps:

1. Download the UMANG app from the Play Store or App Store.

2. Select 'CBSE' in the 'Services' section.

3. Log in using your mobile number via OTP or MPIN.

4. Enter the required details and submit.

5. Your result will be displayed on the screen.
