CBSE Board Exam 2024: Schools Directed to Submit LOC By September 12

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the timeline for various events related to the board exams in 2024, as of August 11. These events encompass direct admissions for Classes 10 and 12, the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC), alterations to subjects, registration procedures for Class 9 and 11 students, and other academic activities. The board emphasized its key responsibility in conducting secondary and senior secondary exams effectively, necessitating the issuance of timely notifications and circulars. The official announcement stated that a revised schedule has been introduced for strict adherence by schools to ensure the smooth completion of the 2024 examinations.
The notification from the board further elaborated that it has meticulously prepared a comprehensive document outlining the framework and guidelines for the Class 10 and 12 certificate exams. School principals were earnestly requested to carefully review the circular and take requisite action to ensure accurate and punctual submission of LOCs. According to the provided schedule, the process of submitting LOCs for Classes 10 and 12 will commence on August 14. Schools can submit the LOC without incurring late fees up until September 13. Moreover, a provision for submission with late fees has been allotted from September 14 to September 22. Direct admissions in Class 10th and 12th can only be granted by schools until August 31. During this period, schools are also mandated to gather data pertaining to Children With Special Needs (CWSN) and forward it to the regional office for potential concessions, if applicable. Additionally, schools are required to input CWSN student details into the LOC portal.
For students aspiring to change their subjects, the deadline for applications is August 31. Subsequently, schools will review these requests and subsequently seek approval from the regional office. Upon receiving consent from CBSE, schools are obligated to accurately input the candidate's chosen subject into the LOC website. Students desiring participation in sports and Olympiads are directed to submit their applications by December 2023. Schools are encouraged to seek guidance from either the Sports Authority of India or the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education. The board has explicitly asked schools to furnish all pertinent information by December 31, emphasizing that no requests will be entertained beyond this date.
In situations involving attendance shortages, CBSE has instructed schools to assess students' attendance up until January 1, 2024, and promptly report any instances of attendance discrepancies to the board office by January 5 of the subsequent year. Board permissions will be granted to schools by January 31. Furthermore, schools have been urged to submit petitions for individuals from the armed services and paramilitary forces who have lost their lives in the line of duty by January 31, 2024.
