Officials announced on Friday that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended two individuals in relation to the alleged paper leak of a nursing officer recruitment examination conducted by AIIMS, Delhi on June 3. They further stated that a search operation is currently underway, and more individuals involved may be arrested.
The CBI has filed a case against Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology based in Mohali and a person named Ritu for their involvement in the leakage of the NORCET-4 examination paper. Following the registration of an FIR on June 9, the agency conducted searches at various locations, including Haryana, Chandigarh, Mohali, and Delhi.
These searches targeted the premises of the accused as well as an examination center in Mohali. A spokesperson for the CBI stated on Friday, "During the searches and investigation, we recovered a Network Video Recorder (NVR) containing CCTV footage, server laptops, CPUs belonging to identified candidates, several mobile phones, and suspicious TFTs."
The examination held on June 3 was intended to recruit 3,055 Nursing Officers for all AIIMS in India and certain other government hospitals in Delhi. On the day of the exam, social media platforms were flooded with screenshots of the question papers, fueling speculations of a paper leak. The CBI FIR noted, "Screenshots of a candidate console appearing are going viral on social media, and all received screenshots have been examined." Officials confirmed that the analysis of these screenshots revealed that the candidate console belonged to a person named Ritu, who was assigned the exam center at Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology.
