The All India Management Association (AIMA) administers the Management Aptitude Test (MAT), a national-level entrance exam for MBA/PGDM admissions. MAT is conducted four times a year in February, May, September, and December. MAT scores are recognized by over 800 business schools for admissions.

The MAT exam is available in three formats: offline (Paper Based Test or PBT), online (Computer Based Test or CBT), and remotely proctored (Internet Based Test or IBT). The fees, exam schedule, and syllabus remain consistent across all three options.

The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) has been facilitating B-Schools in screening candidates for admission to MBA and allied programs since 1988. In 2003, it was approved as a national-level test by the Government of India, Ministry of Education.
