New Academic Offerings at Ambedkar University Delhi

On Thursday, Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) revealed the introduction of two new academic programs: a Master’s in Political Science and a Doctor of Literature (D.Litt) for the academic year 2025-26, according to university officials.

During a press conference, AUD's Vice-Chancellor Anu Singh Lather presented the university's admission brochure for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

"This year, we are offering a total of 1,123 seats for undergraduate programs and 1,491 for postgraduate courses," she stated.

Emphasizing the university's commitment to an "inclusive" and "affordable" education model, Lather noted, "Our fees are significantly subsidized since the university is entirely government-funded. We do not impose any fees on SC, ST, or PwD students. Last year, over Rs 6.26 crore was allocated for scholarships and student welfare initiatives." She also mentioned that the university is aligning its curriculum with the National Education Policy (NEP), which focuses on experiential learning.

"In line with the NEP's emphasis on fieldwork, our students are engaging in practical experiences at locations like Rakhigarhi in Haryana," Lather added.

The D.Litt program is designed to acknowledge and foster substantial contributions in fields such as literature, humanities, social sciences, and design.

While typically conferred as an honorary degree, AUD will offer it as a legitimate academic program, Lather confirmed.
