Aadhaar Card Not Mandatory for School Admission: Odisha Govt

The Odisha government has announced that possessing an Aadhaar card is not obligatory for student enrollment in any schools within the state. As per a letter from Aswathy S, the secretary of the state's school and mass education department, to all district education officers, it has been made clear that students should be allowed to secure admission with or without an Aadhaar card.
The letter emphasized that the primary goal is to ensure hassle-free and seamless student admissions, with parents facing no inconveniences during this process. Furthermore, the directive highlighted that after admission, efforts should be made to assist students in obtaining Aadhaar cards by collaborating with various district offices. The secretary also urged district education officers to communicate this information to all headmasters and headmistresses, underscoring that any deviations from these guidelines would be taken seriously.
