In a significant development, the Bihar cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has given the green light to the recruitment of 69,692 teachers for state-run schools. Recruitment of 69,692 Teachers

The cabinet's approval paves the way for the recruitment of 69,692 teachers across various classes in state-run schools. This recruitment process will be conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). However, it is contingent on the completion of BPSC's ongoing recruitment of 1.70 lakh teachers.

Hike in Monthly Honorarium for 'Siksha Sewaks' and 'Vikas Mitras'

The cabinet's decision also brings about a remarkable increase in the monthly honorarium for 'Siksha Sewaks' and 'Vikas Mitras.'

  • 'Siksha Sewaks': Approximately 9,825 'Vikas Mitras' working under the SC and ST Welfare Department in the state's panchayats will now receive a monthly honorarium of over Rs 25,000, a significant raise from the previous Rs 13,700. Moreover, they will benefit from an annual increment of 5 percent.

  • 'Vikas Mitras': These individuals are instrumental in implementing various developmental and welfare schemes initiated by the government in rural areas. Following the increase in honorarium, 'Siksha Sewaks' will now receive Rs 22,000 per month, up from the previous Rs 11,000, along with an annual increment of 5 percent.
