There will be direct appointment of 2855 teachers for plus two schools

Employment News-A total of 3120 posts of teachers will be appointed in the plus two schools of the state. In these, 2855 posts will be directly appointed and 265 posts (reserved backlog) will be appointed for high school teachers. The requisition has been sent by the Personnel Department to the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). This will be the biggest ever appointment in the state's plus two schools. Never before had the recruitment process for so many posts in plus two schools been started in the state. It has been said in the letter that the post requisitioned for appointment is not covered by any examination conduct rules of JSSC. The prepared rules regarding the appointment of teachers have also been sent to the commission. The examination will be taken simultaneously for direct appointment and for appointment to both the posts reserved for teachers. For appointment of teachers in plus two schools in the state, 25 percent posts are reserved for high school teachers. There is a provision for direct appointment on 75 percent of the posts.

Appointed thrice so far
Since the formation of the state, teachers have been appointed thrice in plus two schools. However, whenever teachers were appointed, the posts remained vacant. Teachers were first appointed in the year 2012. Examination was held for appointment in eight subjects in 230 schools of the state. Out of total 1840 posts, 1235 teachers were appointed. 605 posts of teachers were left vacant. After this, applications were invited for the appointment of teachers in plus two schools in the year 2017 and 2018. In the year 2017, applications were invited for the appointment of 513 teachers in 171 schools for three subjects and in the year 2018 for 3080 teachers in 280 schools. The posts remained vacant in the appointments made in the year 2017 and 2018. In the year 2018, only about 1800 teachers were appointed out of 3080.

Information sent to JSSC
A requisition was also sent to JSSC for the appointment of laboratory assistants in 230 plus two schools of the state. JSSC had sought some information from the Education Department regarding the appointment, the department has sent the information. Let us inform that whenever teachers were appointed in plus two schools, maximum number of posts remained vacant in science subjects. Nearly half of the teachers' posts in Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry remained vacant. At the same time, up to 80 percent of the seats reserved for high school teachers in science subjects remained vacant. After this the education department reduced the reservation of high school teachers in plus two schools. Reservation for high school teachers was reduced from 50 per cent to 25 per cent.
