Last year, a budget of Rs 100 crore was released for the repair of government schools through Project Alankar. This time, private schools including aided schools will also be involved in the renewal mission.
Standards are yet to be set under this mission. The Bharatiya Janata Party's Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra includes the repair of buildings of secondary education schools. The infrastructure is to be renovated under this renewal process. Under this, smart classes will be created with audio-video projects. WiFi will be arranged in such schools. A library will be built in every school. Computer labs, science labs and art rooms will be constructed in the schools that will be selected.
Alankar's mandate issued
Project Alankar was run for schools whose buildings are more than 75 years old. In this, the amount of grant is decided by the number of students. 25 lakhs will be given to schools with numbers from 300 to 500, 50 lakhs to schools with numbers from 500 to 1000 and 75 lakhs to schools with numbers from 1000 to 1500. One crore to schools with a population of 1500 to 2000 children and Rs 1.25 crore to schools with a population of more than Rs.
