RTE: Apply by April 11 for free education in private schools

Employment News-Under the Right to Education Act (RTE), the admission process for the academic session 2022-23 in private schools has started. You can apply online for free education till April 11 at www.rte121c-ukd.in. Private schools have to admit children from disadvantaged and weaker sections in 25% of the seats.

HB Chand, Additional District Project Officer of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan said that parents can apply online for admission of children in private schools of their ward. After the online application, the registration form along with the certificates of birth, address, caste, category and income etc. will have to be submitted in the office of the Deputy Education Officer.

The age of five years as on March 31, 2022 for application in class one and three years of age should be completed for admission in schools recognized by pre-primary education. After allotment of schools to the children through lottery, private schools will confirm the admission by pressing the button of enroll on the portal.

8335 children studying in the district

In the academic session 2021-22, 1420 children took admission in private schools under RTE in Nainital district. At present 8335 children are studying under RTE in 347 schools in the district.

Verification of forms in the office of Deputy Education Officer and confirmation of the eligibility for lottery - 22 March to 18 April
Lottery process for admission of eligible children - 21 April
Lottery result portal and posted in Deputy Education Officer's office- 23 April
Admission process in schools- 25 April to 7 May
Private schools will upload the list of admitted children - May 9 to May 11
Second lottery if needed - from May 17 onwards
