Prisoners of Satna Jail taking higher education, some doing MBA and some doing master's degree in social work

Employment News- 59 prisoners of Satna Jail in Madhya Pradesh are taking higher education from the jail itself. Some are doing MBA through Bhoj and IGNOU and some are preparing for Master in Social Work. Altogether 120 prisoners are getting education.


It is the intention of the Madhya Pradesh government that efforts should be made to bring the prisoners imprisoned in the four walls of the jail into the main stream of the society. Equal opportunities are being given to the prisoners lodged in the jail for minor and major crimes. Arrangements are being made for reading lessons inside the jail itself. This effort is also going on in Satna Central Jail. The craze for taking professional degree is increasing among the prisoners here. 59 prisoners are pursuing higher education in this session. This education is getting through Bhoj and IGNOU.


Please tell that there are more than 2000 prisoners in Satna Central Jail. Some convicted and some under trial. Literacy campaign is going on under the scheme of Prison Reforms Department. In such a situation, the prisoners here have the facility of studying. In the current session, 59 prisoners are pursuing higher education here. If one prisoner is doing MBA, then there are 12 prisoners who are doing diploma in social development from Ramcharitmanas. Some are doing diploma on rural development and some are doing MSW. There are many prisoners who want to get a bachelor's degree. There are 120 such prisoners in Satna Central Jail who are studying. They have the facility of education inside the jail itself. Reading material is available to them free of cost and a teacher is appointed who guides them properly.

Assistant Jail Superintendent Ram Krishna Choure told that to improve the life of the prisoners, it is necessary to turn them towards education. We are helping the prisoners who want to study. Education will improve their future life. Crime will decrease.
