This decision has been taken in the interest of the students in view of the loss of studies due to the closure of schools due to Kovid-19. A notification issued by the Department of School and All Education said that "the period of summer vacation has been reduced from June 6 to June 16, 2022."

An official said that the summer vacation of 50 days in schools will now be of 10 days. At the same time, he said that keeping in mind the heat, from May 1 to June 5, the teaching time in schools will be from 6 am to 9 pm. Schools remained closed for the last two years due to the lockdown implemented due to Kovid-19 in the states. The students were promoted to the next class without taking the exam. Although the schools were conducting online classes. She too was barely able to reach all the students. Rural school students could not take advantage of this.

Admission will start from April 20
According to sources, keeping these factors in mind, the government has devised a strategy to help the students, who missed the last two years, to complete the previous courses. It has also been said in the notification that class promotion for students of classes 1 to 8 will be done till April 20. New admission / re-admission in class 1 to 9 can be done from April 20 to April 30.

Mid-day meal with morning class
As per the “New Evaluation Policy” launched by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, Class 9 students will have to appear in Summative Assessment-II (SA-II) Examination. The notification said that the conduct of SA-II and declaration of result for class 9 students and promotion to class 10 should be completed by May 10. It was also said that morning classes would continue till further orders. Along with this, cooked mid-day meals will also be given to the eligible beneficiaries.
