New National Education Policy will not be implemented in Himachal's colleges from this session, know the reason

Employment News- Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) Shimla will not implement the new National Education Policy-2020 in colleges in the academic session 2022-23. This policy will be implemented from the next session 2023-24 after full preparation and mobilization of facilities. Recently, the Dean's Committee of HPU, present in the discussion regarding the implementation of the new education policy, has suggested to give six months time to the colleges for preparation and mobilization of necessary facilities according to the new policy.

Although changes in the syllabus and other preparations have been completed to implement the new policy from this session, but preparations are yet to be made at the college level. At present, infrastructural facilities in colleges, posts of teachers and 90 principals are yet to be filled. Dean Studies of the University Prof. Kulbhushan Chandel said that the detailed report of the suggestions would be taken to the Academic Council of HPU to be held in July and then to the Executive Council (EC), the adjudicating body of the university. Only then will the final decision be taken. It should be noted that from July 10, the admission process of graduation in colleges is to start.

New policy will be implemented simultaneously in Shimla and Mandi University
 The new education policy will be implemented simultaneously in 165 colleges under HPU Shimla and 137 under Sardar Patel University Mandi so that there is uniformity in degrees.

These changes are to happen in the new education policy
If the new education policy is implemented in UG courses, the semester system has to be implemented again. In this, changes have to be made in the courses as per the policy. At the same time, multiple entry, exit, add on courses are to be started in the four-year course. Facility like transfer of credit obtained by registering students with Academic Bank of Credit is to be introduced under National Academic Depository (NAD) Portal.

Policy will be implemented in colleges after full preparation: Vice Chancellor
Vice Chancellor of Central University and Acting Vice Chancellor of HPU Prof. SP Bansal said that the colleges would be fully prepared to implement the new education policy. Both the universities will decide together.
