At the same time, to pass this exam also it will be mandatory for the candidates to pass in the tribal and regional language. The condition of passing matriculation and inter from Jharkhand for general category candidates will also be applicable for this examination. Earlier in Jharkhand, the recognition of JTET passed was fixed for seven years only.

The Jharkhand Council of Ministers on Thursday approved the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JETET) Rules-2022, in which the validity of its certificate has been made for life. With this, the way has been cleared for the conduct of this examination in Jharkhand. It is mandatory for general category candidates to secure 60 percent marks to pass the JTET exam. At the same time, candidates belonging to SC, ST and Divyang category will have to secure 50 percent marks.

Similarly, candidates belonging to Backward Classes, Other Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections will have to secure 55 percent marks. At the same time, as qualifying marks in each subject, the candidates of these categories will have to get 40, 30 and 35 marks respectively.

About 50,000 candidates will get its benefit

In Jharkhand this teacher eligibility test has not been held after the year 2016. So far, only two teacher eligibility tests have been conducted here in the year 2012 and 2016, while this examination is to be conducted every year. The candidates who have passed in the year 2012 and 2016 will also get the benefit of having lifetime recognition of the certificate. In total, about 50,000 candidates will get the benefit of JETAT pass. These include a large number of para teachers, who are to get the benefit of the revised honorarium.
