Education Minister gave instructions to private schools, said- give admission to poor students in 25 percent seats compulsorily

Employment News-Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said in a meeting with private school operators that under the Right to Education Act, 25 percent seats in private schools should be compulsorily given admission to children living below the poverty line.

In a meeting with private school operators at the Directorate of Elementary Education, Nanurkheda, the Education Minister said that private school operators should make efforts with the government to make the state an education hub. He invited private schools to open one educational institution each in hilly areas. For which the government will extend all possible cooperation in providing basic facilities from land to private institutions.

He said that special camps would be organized at tehsil level to generate income certificates of parents of children at the time of admission process. So that parents do not have to wander to get income certificate. In the meeting, a detailed discussion was held regarding the implementation of National Education Policy-2020 from this session. Director General of Education Banshidhar Tiwari gave a presentation on the new education policy.

In the meeting, the school operators demanded to remove the provisions of not failing any student from class I to VIII with a view to maintain the quality of education. In the meeting, the Education Minister said that the health check-up of the students studying in private schools should be done from time to time, libraries need to be made more attractive and equipped to encourage the study tendency among the students.

He also appealed to the private school operators to cooperate in developing green school campus in the state. Said that the district level officers of the department would organize a meeting every three months to solve the problems of private school operators. Additional Secretary Deepti Singh, Director Secondary RK Kunwar, Director SCERT Seema Jaunsari, Director Basic Education Vandana Garbyal etc. were present in the meeting.
