Changes in school education will be tested at every level, National Achievement Survey will be the basis

Employment News-The dreams of reforming school education through the new National Education Policy (NEP) will be tested on the ground along with the implementation of the policy. This test will take place at a fixed interval at each of the levels. Along with this, the level at which the need is considered, it will also be strengthened further. For the time being, the basis of this entire assessment will be the recently published National Achievement Survey (NAS)-2021 report. In which still children were found to be moderately weak in subjects like maths and science.

Assessment will be done on the basis of existing standards

According to the Education Ministry, there will be a National Achievement Survey (NAS) again after three years to assess the changes in school education, which will be based on the standards set for 2021. This will happen in 2024. Based on its performance, changes in school education will be judged. Anyway, by then most of the NEP's school education recommendations would have been implemented. In such a situation, the report of NAS will be very important from the point of view of school education.

In this survey conducted in November 2021, 1.18 lakh schools across the country in 720 districts have participated. In which 34 lakh students of 3rd, 5th, 8th and 10th class participated. In this, the states are also being included prominently, so that they adopt the reforms under the policy faster. It is believed that this will also reveal the activism of the states in implementing the policy.

The performance of the states which lag behind in implementing it will also be weak. Significantly, the NAS report assesses the learning ability of children, including the improvement in the quality of school education, state-wise. On the basis of this, the national average is decided.
