Employment News-Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has announced that it will set up five model schools and a skill development academy in its area of ​​operation. OMC signed an agreement with Odisha Adarsh ​​Vidyalaya Sangathan for setting up five 'Mining Adarsh ​​Vidyalayas'. It also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Technical Education and Training for setting up of Skill Development Academy at ITI, Koira.

Officials said the OMC would spend Rs 208 crore to set up a model school in its mining area. Along with this, he will invest Rs 30 crore annually for the operation of these institutions. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that OMCs have taken several developmental initiatives to improve the quality of life of the people and bring about positive change. The people of the state are getting the benefit of this.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, "Its efforts to support the state in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic are highly commendable. Be it sports, health, education or infrastructure development sector, OMCs have always focused their attention towards betterment.” He said the OMC has achieved the target of producing more than 3 million tonnes of ore in the financial year 2021-22 with a turnover of Rs 17,000 crore.
