30 government schools will be connected with Delhi Board of School Education
In the session 2021-22, 30 government schools in Delhi will be connected to the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE). Delhi government will launch 20 Schools of Specialized Excellence by 15th August this year and these schools are going to start now. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia chaired the second general body meeting of Delhi School of Specialized Excellence and Delhi Board of School Education Society on Tuesday and important decisions were taken in the meeting.
From August 15, 20 Schools of Specialized Excellence will be started in Delhi, consisting of 8 schools in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). There will be 5 schools for Humanities and 21st Century High End Skills. Two schools of visual and performing arts will be started. In these schools from 9th to 12th, students will be admitted through Aptitude Test. These special schools will be linked to the Delhi Board of School Education. Around 100 Schools of Specialized Excellence will be started across Delhi in the next 2 years. These schools will be there in every educational zone so that children from all parts of Delhi can reach the specialized school in their neighbourhood.
Discussing the vision of the Specialized School, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the focus will be on the all round development of the students so that the children can take admission in the selected and best higher education institutions of the country and abroad. He said that it is important to identify the interest and aptitude of the students and provide them special education.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that we will give world class education to the students in Delhi. In the last 5 years, we have worked to improve the basic infrastructure of Delhi’s education system. Our aim is to rank Delhi schools among the best schools in the world. Delhi’s government schools will be at par with international schools in the coming years. The Delhi Board of School Education has partnered with the well-known research organization Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) to adopt the curriculum and assessment process at international standards in these schools, which is organized by the globally recognized program Program for International Students. He is credited with designing the assessment (PISA).
