11-Year-Old Girl Found Dead In School Washroom In Navi Mumbai

A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday when an 11-year-old girl from class 6 was discovered unconscious in the washroom of her school, leading to her untimely death. The distressing incident took place at St Mary's Multipurpose High School and Junior College in Vashi. The young girl, identified as Mugdha Mahendra Kadam, was a resident of sector 17 in Koparkhairane. Mugdha had been diagnosed with juvenile diabetes and required regular checkups every three months.
The incident occurred during the school's recess at approximately 10 AM when Mugdha entered the washroom on the third floor and failed to return for an extended period. Concerned students alerted the teacher, who sent someone to search for her. Tragically, Mugdha was discovered unresponsive inside a toilet stall. The school authorities immediately contacted her parents, and without wasting any time, they rushed her to Vashi General Hospital. Despite all efforts to revive her, Mugdha was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
According to the Hindustan Times, Mugdha's father was in Delhi at the time of the incident, while her mother, a housewife, was understandably devastated. Senior police inspector Shashikant Chandekar from the Vashi police station stated that no one has filed a complaint with the police so far. Initial investigations suggest that there was no foul play involved, and the police have registered a case of accidental death. They are diligently examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A post-mortem examination was conducted later in the evening at NMMC Hospital in Vashi, as reported by the Times of India. Dr. Prashant Jawade, the medical superintendent, confirmed that Mugdha had a history of juvenile diabetes and there were no visible wounds on her body.
