Educational Qualification: Candidates applying for the post of Project Worker must be Ph.D in Inorganic/Organic/Physical/Polymer/ Nanoscience &Technology with M.Sc in Chemistry. M.Sc with CSIR-UGC-NET(JRF)/ CSIR-UGC-NET(LS) or 1st Class M.Sc in Biotechnology, Botany/ Life Sciences with specialization in Biotechnology/Taxonomy or Zoology with specialization in Entomology.
Age Limit: 28 years to 35 years as on date of Interview.

North East Institute of Science and Technology, formerly(RRL) , Jorhat was established in the year 1961 as one of the multidisciplinary laboratories of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research(CSIR) under its Chemical Science Group of laboratories. Its major thrust of R&D activities has been to develop indigeneous technologies by utilising the immense natural wealth of India. The North Eastern Region of the country being bestowed with an abundance of material resources like petroleum, natural Gas, Minerals, Tea as well as aromatic and Medicinal plants and hence the laboratories was targeted to undertake research for development of Know-How for a wide a range of industries and extension works. The Goals of ” To design, develop and deliver knowledgebases and technologies for gainful application based on natural resources available in North Eastern region of India and to improve the quality of life in rural areas”
Silchar is the headquarters of Cachar district in the state of Assam in India. It is 343 kilometers (213 mi) south east of Guwahati. It is the second-largest city of the state in terms of population and municipal area. Silchar is located in the southern part of Assam. As of 2011 India census, Silchar had a population of 178,865. Total numbers of males were 89,961 and females 88,904. The sex ratio of Silchar was 988 females per 1000 males, which is above the national ratio of 940 females per 1000 males. Silchar has an average literacy rate of 91.74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%, with male literacy of 93.97% and female literacy at 89.50%.
