The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2022, revealing an impressive achievement by women candidates. Today, on May 23, the UPSC declared Ishita Kishore as the topper with All India Rank 1 in the UPSC CSE result 2023. Following closely behind, Garima Lohia and Uma Harathi N secured the second and third positions, respectively.

These results mark a significant milestone as, for the second consecutive year, female candidates have secured the top three positions in one of India's most prestigious examinations. The UPSC Civil Services Examination, conducted annually in three stages—Prelims, Main, and Interview (personality test)—aims to select officers for esteemed positions such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other posts. After undergoing a rigorous selection process, a total of 933 candidates have been recommended for appointment to these esteemed services.

Among the recommended candidates, 345 individuals belong to the general category, 99 come from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 263 represent the Other Backward Classes (OBC), while 154 and 72 candidates are from the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), respectively. It is worth noting that the candidature of 101 recommended candidates is provisional, as stated by the commission. For further details, the result document includes a roll number wise list of the recommended candidates, which has been published for reference.
