NTA Implements Wall Clocks for NEET-UG Re-Examination to Enhance Time Management
Introduction of Wall Clocks in Exam Centers
The National Testing Agency (NTA) acquired 95,000 wall clocks for the NEET-UG re-examination conducted on June 21. These clocks were strategically placed in nearly every examination room across various centers, both domestically and internationally. This initiative allowed students to manage their time effectively without the stress of frequently checking the time. Due to NTA's stringent rules, students were not allowed to wear any watches—digital or analog—inside the examination hall, making the wall clocks a vital addition for timekeeping.
Feedback-Driven Decision
**A New Idea Stemming from Student Feedback**
NTA Director General Abhishek Singh mentioned that student feedback was collected after the cancellation of the exam initially scheduled for May 3. Many students expressed the need for visible timekeeping throughout the exam to enhance their time management. While some centers had clocks, the majority did not, prompting the NTA to implement this solution in late May to ensure all students had equal access to timekeeping facilities.
Sourcing Challenges and Solutions
Major suppliers faced difficulties in providing 95,000 clocks within a tight three-week timeframe. To meet the deadline, the NTA successfully sourced the clocks from various smaller companies.
Future Use of the Clocks
**What Happens to the Clocks Now?**
After the re-examination, a question arose regarding the future of these clocks. The NTA has decided to donate all the clocks to the schools where the exams took place, ensuring that future students can benefit from them. According to Director General Abhishek Singh, many students from these institutions will eventually prepare for NEET, making the clocks a valuable resource.
Clocks for Future NEET-UG Exams
Clocks to be provided in future NEET-UG exams as well
It is noteworthy that over 2 million students participated in this re-examination across 5,440 centers worldwide. Officials have confirmed that wall clocks will also be available in examination rooms for future NEET-UG assessments.
Security and Exam Success
This re-examination was conducted under strict security measures, occurring one month after the original exam was canceled due to allegations of a paper leak. The NTA has reported the exam as a complete success, although some students noted that the paper was slightly more challenging than the previous version.

Results coming soon
Currently, the NTA has released the provisional answer key for the NEET-UG re-examination. The processing of OMR response sheets is ongoing, and they will be uploaded to the official website shortly. With the answer key now available, students are eagerly anticipating their results. The Director General has assured that the results of the re-examination will be announced soon.
