NEET UG 2026: NTA Releases OMR Sheets for Candidate Review
Candidates Can Now Access Their OMR Sheets
In a significant update for the numerous candidates who took the NEET UG 2026 medical entrance examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has made available the scanned OMR answer sheets along with the recorded responses. This allows candidates to verify the answers they submitted during the exam. If any discrepancies are identified in the recorded responses, candidates have the opportunity to submit an online objection within the designated timeframe.
The NTA has provided this service on its official website, neet.nta.nic.in. Additionally, candidates will receive their scanned OMR sheets via their registered email addresses for convenient access. To bolster security, the agency has introduced OTP-based two-factor authentication, requiring candidates to confirm their identity with an OTP sent to their mobile or email after logging in.
This verification process enables candidates to check if their marked answers on the OMR sheet were accurately recorded. Should they find any errors in the recorded responses, they can raise an online challenge.
Deadline for Objections
Objections Accepted Until July 15
The NTA has announced that the window for challenging recorded responses opened on July 13, 2026, and will remain open until July 15, 2026. A processing fee of ₹200 is required for each question challenged, which can be paid online using debit cards, credit cards, or net banking. Challenges submitted after the deadline or without the requisite fee will not be entertained. It is important to note that this facility is strictly for addressing potential errors related to the OMR sheets and recorded responses. The opportunity to contest the answer key has already closed, and no new challenges regarding the answer key will be accepted.
The original NEET UG 2026 exam took place on May 3, 2026. Although the provisional answer key was released shortly after on May 6, the exam was later cancelled. A re-examination was conducted on June 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM, with over 20 lakh candidates participating. Following the release of the OMR sheets, candidates are now eagerly awaiting the final results.
