Following the announcement of the NEET UG 2026 results, a significant number of students are eagerly waiting for the MCC to release the counselling timetable. This process is crucial for admissions into various medical programs, including MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing. Once the schedule is published, candidates will need to register online, after which the seat allocation and admission procedures will commence.

According to the National Medical Commission’s seat matrix for this year, there are 1,36,939 MBBS seats available nationwide. With over 11.21 lakh candidates qualifying in the NEET UG 2026 exam, the competition for these limited seats is expected to be fierce.

Expected Start Date for Counselling

Reports suggest that the MCC could kick off the NEET UG counselling at any moment. While an official announcement is still pending, many expect the schedule to be released soon after the NEET UG results were declared on July 16. The MCC counselling will facilitate admissions for 15% All India Quota MBBS and BDS seats, along with seats in AIIMS, JIPMER, Central Universities, Deemed Universities, ESIC medical colleges, AFMS institutes, and BSc Nursing programs. Meanwhile, the admission for the 85% State Quota seats will be managed by the respective state counselling authorities.

Steps for Online Registration

Once the counselling process begins, candidates must visit the official MCC website to register. They will need to log in using their NEET application details. After paying the required registration fee, candidates can submit their application form. It is advisable to download the confirmation page after submission and keep it for future reference.

Counselling Process Overview

Historically, the counselling process has been conducted in four rounds. This year is expected to follow a similar pattern, comprising Round 1, Round 2, a Mop-up Round, and a Stray Vacancy Round. After each round of seat allotment, candidates must report to their assigned medical college.
