JEE Advanced 2026: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has published both question papers for JEE Advanced 2026 on its official site, jeeadv.ac.in. Candidates who took the exam can now access and download the PDF versions of Paper 1 and Paper 2 without needing any login credentials or authentication details.


Exam Details

The examination took place on May 17, 2026, across two sessions. The first session for Paper 1 was from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. A large number of students participated in this nationwide examination.

JEE Advanced Paper 1 Analysis:


Feedback from students and subject experts indicates that the Mathematics section of Paper 1 was particularly lengthy and challenging, requiring considerable time to solve many questions. The Physics section necessitated a strong conceptual grasp, while the Chemistry section was perceived as tricky and difficult.

Paper 2 Analysis:


Students found Paper 2 to be quite challenging and heavily reliant on concepts. Time management emerged as a significant hurdle, especially in the Mathematics section, which was deemed the most difficult. Marking Scheme for JEE Advanced 2026

Paper 1 Marking Scheme:


Paper 1 included various question types. There was no negative marking for integer-type questions. However, for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Single Correct Option Questions (SCQs), and Matrix Match type questions, one mark was deducted for each incorrect answer.


Paper 2 Marking Scheme:


The marking scheme for Paper 2 is as follows:



  • 4 Single-Correct-Answer Questions: +3 marks for a correct answer, -1 mark for an incorrect answer.

  • 5 Multiple-Correct-Answer Questions: +4 marks for a correct answer, -1 mark for an incorrect answer.

  • 5 Integer-Based Questions: +4 marks for a correct answer, -1 mark for an incorrect answer.

  • 4 Paragraph-Based Questions: +2 marks for a correct answer; no negative marking for incorrect answers.

When will the JEE Advanced results be released?
