Not all students can apply for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 private board exams. The CBSE has outlined specific categories of students who are eligible to take these exams. Here are the categories defined by CBSE:


**Essential Repeat:**


Students classified as 'Essential Repeat' in their previous board exam results are eligible to apply. This category indicates that the student must retake the examination for all subjects.


**Compartment:**


Students who were placed in the 'compartment' category for any subject during past main or compartment board exams can apply for the private board exams.


**Improvement of Performance:**
