Deadline Extension for Scanned Answer Sheets

In a significant move for Class 12 students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has once again extended the deadline for obtaining scanned copies of answer sheets. Students can now submit their applications online at cbse.gov.in until 12:00 AM on May 25, 2026.

This extension comes in response to numerous complaints from students regarding issues with the online application portal and payment system. Initially, the deadline was set for May 22, but due to ongoing technical difficulties, it was first pushed to May 23, then May 24, and now to the new deadline.

Many students and their parents reported that the application portal was frequently crashing, and in some cases, payments were deducted without successful application submissions. This prompted CBSE to take action and extend the deadline.

Upcoming Re-evaluation Process

CBSE has indicated that the schedule for the re-evaluation and verification of answer sheets will be announced separately after the scanned copies are released. Students are encouraged to apply within the new deadline to avoid missing out.

Education Minister Requests Detailed Report

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has taken note of the technical issues and has requested a comprehensive report from CBSE. He seeks clarification on the server failures, payment transaction issues, and other operational challenges. To address these problems, a team of experts from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur will assess the portal and the re-evaluation process to prevent future inconveniences for students.

Banking Support for Payment System

To enhance the payment infrastructure, several government banks, including State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, and Indian Bank, have been integrated into CBSE’s system. This collaboration aims to improve the overall functionality of the portal.
