CBSE Extends Class 12 Re-evaluation Deadline to May 23
CBSE Extends Re-evaluation Application Deadline
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced an extension for students wishing to apply for the re-evaluation of their Class 12 answer sheets. The new deadline for applications, including requests for scanned copies, is now set for May 23. This decision follows reports of technical issues faced by students on the initial application day, including problems with the application portal crashing. Despite earlier assurances from CBSE that the portal was operational, many students encountered difficulties.
The re-evaluation process for Class 12 answer sheets was initiated on May 19.
Key Details on Re-evaluation Process
**Deadline for Re-evaluation Applications Extended**
Originally, students could submit their applications until May 22. However, CBSE has now extended this deadline to May 23, allowing more time for students to apply.

In a significant change, the fee for accessing these answer scripts has been reduced to ₹100 from the previous ₹700. Concerns Over Declining Results
**Introduction of Online Marking System (OMS)**
This year, CBSE implemented an Online Marking System (OMS) for evaluating Class 12 answer scripts. This change coincided with a notable decline in results, which are reported to be the lowest in recent years. Allegations have surfaced suggesting that the OMS may be responsible for this downturn; however, both CBSE and the Ministry of Education have denied these claims.
